Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced contract instructor to teach a course on investing for high-school students.

As the instructor, you will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging and interactive lessons that will help students gain a deeper understanding of the investment world. You will also serve as a mentor and role model, providing guidance and support to students as they explore their interests and develop their skills.

The course is designed to provide students with a solid understanding of key investment concepts and strategies, including stock market analysis, portfolio management, and risk management. The instructor will have the opportunity to teach both online (year-round for long-term) as well as in-person during a three-week summer camp in New York City, where living and eating will be fully covered. (Note: The only time you must be physically present in New York City is during the three-week summer camp; the rest of the time, you can teach remotely.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the course development team to refine and enhance the curriculum for the investment course
  • Create engaging and interactive lessons that will help students understand key investment concepts and strategies
  • Serve as a mentor and role model, providing guidance and support to students
  • Evaluate student progress and provide feedback on their performance
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure a positive and productive learning environment for students
  • Teach online via Zoom year-round for long-term as well as in-person at the three-week summer camp in New York City

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in finance, economics, or a related field
  • Working experience in investment and trading is preferred
  • Experience in teaching or mentoring young adults (preferred but not required)
  • Strong understanding of investment strategies and stock market analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for education and helping students succeed
  • Ability to teach both online and in-person
  • Available to work on a contract basis

Salary

  • $10000+ for the three-week summer camp in July (last three weeks)
  • Profit sharing mechanism for small group classes
