“For years I’ve been wanting to revive and revamp a 2006 program called All Together Now, an evening of ensemble pieces covering five centuries of Western music. I just needed a cast of crackerjack musicians with inquisitive minds and a command of style—and voilà, there they were on the YCA roster! This quintet of my favorite young singers, fresh from conquering the world as soloists, was eager to do a project where they could sing with their colleagues. Musically they can do anything—and in this show, they will reveal the full extent of their artistry.”

Songs by Franz Schubert, Stefania Turkewich, Viktor Ullman, Shawn Chang, and more.
“Despite society’s attempts to move forward from a past marked by violence and hatred, division and injustice continue to thwart us. We see this reflected in political decisions that harm the people most in need of protection and aid, in the violation of human rights that occurs daily across the world, and in a general sense of hopelessness about what lies ahead for all of us. Through the music of Franz Schubert, Stefania Turkewich, Viktor Ullmann, Shawn Chang, Radiohead, and Benard Ighner, we explore our current state, divulge how we can overcome and transform, and depict what a better world could be like. The fundamental need for reformation could not be clearer or more pressing. Everything must change.”

Through groundbreaking works by Beethoven, Debussy, and Crumb, I explore how the boundaries of music have been constantly pushed forward. This program celebrates these composers’ visions of grandeur and the profound impact they had on the trajectory of classical music.”
